Ruakura Club Xmas Dinner
Our annual Christmas dinner will be held on Friday 15th December 2023.

Swimming Pool Working Bee
We’re planning the annual clean up and prep day for the swimming pool on Saturday 11th November, the goal being to have the pool stablised and open by the end of November.

Gumboot Friday!
This Friday 3rd November we’re asking every member that wears their (clean) gumboots for a $3.00 donation. Those that don’t wear their gumboots will be requested to make a $5.00 donation.
Feel free to decorate your gumboots however you want, we’d love to see what you can come up with.
Donations and fines can be paid by EFTPOS at the bar (pay with your drink/food order) or cash.
We’ll have burgers, chips and sausages available.

Gumboot Friday, founded by mental health advocate Mike King, is a free counselling service for any young person in New Zealand aged 25 and under.
An overworked, underfunded, and under resourced public mental health service has led to excruciatingly long wait times for young people needing immediate help. Our free counselling platform provides a bridge to rangatahi in need by breaking down the barriers of cost and wait times.
By supporting Gumboot Friday, you’re making a real difference, helping us keep up with the rising demand and ensuring every young Kiwi gets the mental health support they deserve.
Sawmill Awkward Ginger Beer (4.5% ABV)
We’re delighted to be one of very few places with a keg from Sawmill Brewery’s new Awkward Refreshments range.
This beer with ginger is naturally fermented and doesn’t use refined sugars. In the spirit of a traditional Ginger Beer there is spice from the ginger and cinnamon and a refreshing kick from the lemon with a dry finish.

Shade awnings
First order of business for our new President after organising the after AGM BBQ was to arrange putting the shade awnings back up.
These provide a welcome respite from the sun while cooling off with a beverage in the large patio area. Additionally this year we have the awning above the BBQ stations which will no doubt please those performing cooking duties.
2023 AGM Results
It was wonderful to see so many present to help ensure the continuation of the club and hear what we’ve got coming up in the way of challenges and ideas.
We have new executive leadership in Peter Clough & Arn Carr. If you don’t already know them, come on down on a Friday and get introduced. The rest of the executive and committee remain unchanged as each was prepared to stand again. See the contacts page for a full list of the executive and committee.
A huge Thank You to Peter Schare and Grant Northcott for their tenures as President and Vice-President respectively. Peter had some very kind words to say in his report as the out-going club president; including acknowledgements to all those staff and volunteers that have worked so hard over the last 12 months (often behind the scenes) to ensure the club keeps going and meets all it’s requirements.
After 12 years without an increase in the membership fee it was decided our 2023/2024 membership fees will be as follows.

Annual General Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the AGM of Ruakura Campus Club Inc. will be held in the RCC Conference room on Friday 13th October 2023 commencing at 6 pm.
The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following matters:
- Adoption of Annual Report and Financial Statements
- Appointment of Executive and other Committee Officers
The Committee calls for nominations for the following positions for the 2023/24 year:
Executive Board
- President
- Vice – President
- Secretary
Committee
- Six general members
Nomination forms for positions are available from the RCC Bar. Nominations must be completed, and original or scanned copies must be handed into the Club Administration no later than 5 pm 13th October 2023. Members may be nominated for more than one position, however, on appointment to any one position at the AGM the nominations of the appointed member for any other position will be voided.
Notices of Motion
In accordance with the rules of the club, notices of other motions to be put to the Meeting must be received by the Club no later than 5 pm Friday 13th October.
Attendance at Meeting
All financial members at the Club are entitled to attend the Meeting. For the purposes of clarity, only members current with their subscription payments are entitled to vote at the Meeting. The quorum for the Meeting is 15 members with voting rights. Please bring your membership card.

Bar tap changes
To help ensure we get a more varied option in kegs we’re reducing our number of available taps to eight.
One of these will always be a low alcohol beer (Brewaucracy Tax Evasion is our current favourite) and the others will be kegs from around the region and country.
If there is a brew you’d love to see on tap let one of the committee, or the bar staff know and we’ll see what we can do.
