Club Constitution

Ruakura Campus Clubs Incorporated is currently operating under a constitution last modified in 2019, this constitution requires significant updating to meet the requirements of the Incorporated Societies Act 2022

The committee is proposing a new constitution be tabled and accepted at the 2025 Annual General Meeting to be held on Friday, 31st of October.

The proposed constitution is available here for all members to familiarise themselves with and to provide feedback PRIOR to the AGM.
All feedback will be reviewed and any updates made will be posted here and via email newsletter prior to the AGM. The feedback period will close 17th October in order for us to prepare the meeting agenda and copies of the final proposed constitution.

The constitution proposed is largely taken from a template provided by Clubs NZ.
The quick summary of the primary changes between the current constitution and that proposed are:

  • Rule 4: Membership
    • Addition of Employee, Junior and Introductory membership types.
  • Rule 27: Dissolution
    • Addition of support options for solvent constituent clubs in the event the parent club votes to dissolve.
  • Rule 28: Disputes and Appeals
    • This is the biggest change, previously the Executive had total say on disputes, the 2022 Act requires that the method of resolving disputes be consistent with the rules of natural justice. Clubs NZ provided the framework for using a Disciplinary Committee in their template and that has been used to rewrite our rule.
